New York Cyber Abuse Task Force Welcomes Natalie Harris As Panelist

The New York Cyber Abuse Task Force hosted a conference titled “Speaking Out Online: Perspectives from Survivors, Researchers, and Lawyers”.  The conference focused on the increasing threats of defamation lawsuits faced by survivors of gender-based violence who disclose their abuse online. BHH’s Natalie Harris joined a panel of lawyers for a session focused on retaliatory lawsuits and tips for mitigating risk for those who speak out about abuse. Ms. Harris provided the audience with the basic components of defamation law. She also discussed her experience counseling and defending clients facing weaponized litigation and offered advice for survivors contemplating speaking out online.
